Office Organisation Tips To Keep You Motivated
Working in an office can be a challenge in itself. Each office presents its own tests whether it be continuous noise and distractions, lack of creativity, boring and outdated décor, poor temperature control and much more. The key is working out how to improve what you have to work with by turning the negatives into a positive or providing yourself with your own distractions. We have found that by turning your personal space into something you can take charge of, getting through the working day is far easier and much more enjoyable. Below we have put together a number of handy tips that will help organise your desk space and in turn tidy your mind.
Tidy away your wires:
One of the biggest issues of an office desk is having untidy wires everywhere you look. It can be tiresome and frustrating having to constantly untangle your way through your wires and spend precious time trying to figure out which is connected to which device. To prevent this from happening there are a number of solutions…
Binder Clips – these are accessible almost anywhere and are extremely cheap to purchase. By simply attaching the clip to your desk you can slot your wires through the clip handles preventing them from slipping off the desk so that they are always accessible. Different sized clips will cater to wires of different thicknesses ensuring that all of your wires are taken care of.
Plastic Cards:
There may be use for your old bank and credit cards after all. By simply punching some holes into your card and cutting into them with a pair of scissors you will have a ready-made cable organiser. Works just as well as the binder clips only this way you are helping the environment by recycling your products.
Bread Clips:
These are ideal for labelling your cables just above the power socket and further up towards the top of your desk. This make it easy to identify which cable belongs to which plug ensuring that you don’t accidently remove the wrong one.
Spruce up those walls:
Your office walls should be a place of creativity. A place you can turn to for inspiration and information. Adding colour to your walls and a few pictures can make a real difference to the office environment turning it from boring and mundane to exciting and thrilling.
White Boards/Chalk Boards – these are great for having on your walls as they provide an area for teams to discuss current projects, prioritise tasks and cross off those completed. Chalk boards and white boards can be hung on the walls with ease but if you’re feeling daring why not paint your walls in chalk board paint?
Tidy away your clutter:
Storage Boxes :
These are ideal for stacking on your desk to store anything and everything. Use your boxes to keep paperwork in ensuring that it is safe and well organised. Why not have a box dedicated to specific projects or clients and that way you won’t have to sift through to find what you want.
Desk Draws:
These are perfect for keeping important documents as well as unused clutter off your desk. It’s a good idea to get a set of draws that have a filing draw as well as shallow draws. These usually come with a lock so that you can keep important documents safe. Shallow draws can be used for keeping stationary and any other bits that you may have lying around.
Stationery Pot:
It’s not uncommon when working in an office to end up accumulating a load of pens, pencils, markers and other stationery products. A stationary pot is exactly what you need to keep this at bay.
